Things are on the move

It's all exciting stuff round here at the moment.  The new website should be live by the end of this week. I'm so looking forward to it. Not only that but our new advert is ready as well. What do you think?

Chop chop busy busy

Many thanks to all those who came to chat at the wedding fayre at Sparth House yesterday.

Wasn't it busy?!

Bob and me thought the snow might have kept you away but we got that totally wrong.  It's weather like yesterdays that make me so glad we invested in a 4WD or we would have been stranded at home while the party went on without us.  Now we can go anywhere in any weather, it's brilliant!!

It's all hotting up for the wedding season so if you are in the process of organising your wedding please don't leave it till the last minute to book as dates are filling fast.

Just to get you in the mood, here are some pages from Nick and Rebecca's album.

Yet another wedding fayre

Bang in the middle of the wedding fair season, this Sunday we are at Sparth House in Clayton le Moors.

We've done a lot of weddings at Sparth House over the years, it's had a makeover recently and it's one of our favourite venues just because the staff are so very helpful and friendly - and they feed us so very well!!

See you there!

It's all in the detail

You've waited months if not years for your wedding day.

You've spent hours and hours making sure every little detail is all perfect.

The big day finally arrives - and it's all over in a flash.

Wouldn't it be great if you could just relive it all over again?

That's where your wedding photographer comes in.

Our job is to make sure that we not only get all of the pictures you expect to get on your wedding day, the family formal pictures, the informal, fun pictures, speeches, cake cutting etc. but also  make sure that we get lots of pictures of the tiny details, the  items that mean so much to you, the ones that you can so easily forget about as the years roll by.

They aren't always immediately obvious, these items.  It might be your Grandma's wedding ring sewn onto the inside of your wedding dress, or a brooch that means a lot to you.

It isn't just the items that have sentimental value, it's also the special touches that made your day unique and that you spent so much time thinking about and choosing, such as the table decorations and place cards. These are all really important  and can trigger lovely memories.

That's why Bob and me take care to make sure we get lots of images of the details.

Here are just a few of our favourites from Andrew and Roxana's wedding last year.

Andrew and Roxana's Smurf wedding cake. Loved it, it summed up their sense of humour brilliantly.

Roxana's special brooch, it was pinned onto one of the orchids in her bouquet but my eagle eyes spotted it! I found out later it has great sentimental value.

Table decoration  - but you'd already guessed that, hadn't you? I haven't a clue what the table decorations looked like at my wedding nearly 25 years ago - no pictures to remind me, y'see. Sigh.

Quite a big detail, the London bus.  I couldn't leave it out though because it was such an important part of the day. It was great fun and all the guests loved it. They even got tickets.  The little girl below seemed to be fascinated by hers.

ok, not a detail but I loved the moment and the little girl was so cute.

These are just a few to whet your appetite, more soon.

Oh! What a night

What a brilliant time we had at Haighton Manor.  We've never been there before and I wanted to have a mooch around at all the other exhibitors stands but I really didn't get a chance, we were mobbed!! I did manage to snaffle a bit of lemon wedding cake from one stand though, it was delicious!

Many thanks to all who stopped by for a chat. Don't forget, if you'd like to have a closer look at the albums and have a chat about your wedding in a slightly less hectic atmosphere just give us a ring or drop us a line.

You may have noticed the Race for Life banner. Yup, I've decided to go ahead and do it. As a bit of a chubster it'll give me an incentive to get into shape before June. Anyone who would like to make a donation or sponsor me can do so really easily by clicking on the 'sponsor me' bit of the banner.

I've been finishing off one or two albums this week, here are a couple of pages from Alan and Paula's album. Enjoy.

Wedding Fayre Time

Hi and thanks to all the people who came and chatted at The Foxfields Hotel, Whalley,  yesterday.

We had a great time, I love the wedding fairs.  It always makes me chuckle a bit when I see reluctant males being marched around. They try to look interested, they really do but generally the chaps look like they've lost the will to live while their beloved goes into raptures about the seat covers or invitation cards.

The wedding fair season is a great way for Bob and me  to catch up first hand with what's new in the wedding industry and find out about the new trends we can expect so see in the next year.  If I'm really honest it's also a great time for a catch up the other exhibitors, many of whom have become friends.

Dresses are looking lovely and romantic for this season, lots of lighter, floaty fabrics and grecian lines, still decorated with plenty of sparkle. Gorgeous.

I've noticed that the flower table centrepieces and bouquets are looking less structured and with very soft, feminine colours, lots of feathers and gentle curves rather than heavily structured creations.  All in all a softer look for weddings over the next little while, I think.

Gosh - hark at me!! Anyone would think I was still an image consultant!!

The next wedding fair will be at Haighton Manor on Wednesday, 10th February.  It's not often we do a midweek event, it'll be fun.  Why not come and join us?
